We’d sort out the clock before picking a boat, especially if you’ve got a flight and a harbor pickup on the same day. For your booking, the Gili Meno time zone is WITA (UTC+8), short for Central Indonesian Time. You can use the same clock in Bali and mainland Lombok. If you’re still in Jakarta, Meno is already an hour ahead.
Coming from Bali? We’d leave the watch alone.
The Gili Meno time zone on a trip from Bali or Java
Picture breakfast at nine in Bali. It’s nine over on Meno too, and that little shortcut works any month of the year. We keep the same UTC+8 clock year-round.
Coming from Java? Different story. At nine in Jakarta or Surabaya, you’d be meeting us at ten on the Lombok side. We find it easiest to put WITA beside any Lombok pickup time you share with someone who’s still in Java, especially if you’re sorting out the details over messages.
The Gili T time zone and the Gili Air time zone are both WITA too. So if you’re sleeping on Gili Air and meeting a boat on Trawangan, we’d spend our time checking how to get to the meeting point. The clock’s the easy part.
Three clock checks before you book

The time we’d send to your driver
Say your Jakarta flight leaves at ten in the morning and the ticket puts you in Lombok at one in the afternoon. We’d send the driver the flight number and say, “We land at 1 p.m. Lombok time.” The airline has already done the clock maths for you.
You’ll still have a bit of travelling to do after you land. Meno has no airport, so from Lombok there’s a drive to the harbor and a boat ride. Our Gili Meno airport guide is where we’d look to see how those two legs fit together. With checked bags or kids who’ll want a snack after landing, we’d give ourselves room between the flight and boat.
Which time on the boat ticket gets you out the door?
Ten o’clock sailing, nine o’clock check-in? Nine’s the time we’d work back from when choosing a hotel pickup. Give yourself a few minutes at the harbor, too. Finding the right counter with a bag in each hand takes longer than it does on paper.
Once you’ve got the Gili Meno time zone straight, give the booking another look. For a Bali departure, we’d look just as closely at the island printed beside the arrival time. If your boat lands on Gili Trawangan and you’re staying on Meno, there’s another crossing to arrange, even though the clock reads the same on both islands.

Keep the pickup and the boat on one plan
If a driver is meeting you at a Lombok hotel, we’d work back from the boat’s check-in time before choosing your pickup. If you’ve also pencilled in Pink Beach alongside Gili Air Gili Meno on your itinerary, we’d give Pink Beach its own day. The linked guide covers the road to Pink Beach in southeast Lombok. For the boat from Bangsal, you’re heading north.
Room to breathe. We’d leave some of it in the plan even with a private car, because traffic and boat operations can change how the connection works on the day.
What we’d leave open on a snorkeling day
How long would you happily stay in the water? That’s where we’d start when talking through a Gili Islands snorkeling trip. If the kids usually want a break after one swim, we can leave time for that. Same goes for a long lunch on the island if that’s part of the day you’re looking forward to.
Our snorkeling Gili Trawangan tour page shows the three islands we can discuss for your day out. For a private Gili snorkeling tour, we’d settle where to meet and talk through the stops you’d most like to make. The exact order can wait. We’d see what the sea’s doing and which stops are workable that day.

A few things we’d settle before leaving
Can I use Bali time for a boat to Gili Meno?
Yes. Bali and Gili Meno, Indonesia, share WITA. We’d put the harbor name right next to the check-in time in a note on your phone. Handy when you’re still finishing breakfast and the driver asks where you’re sailing from. Your boat check-in follows the Gili Meno time zone too.
How do I tell if my phone is still on Jakarta time?
We’d look for WITA or UTC+8 in the clock app, especially if you’re comparing a screenshot from home with a pickup message from Lombok. If your driver texts “8 a.m. WITA” and you’re checking from Jakarta, that’s seven on the clock there.
Can I make it to Meno on the day my flight lands?
Sometimes. We’d look at your flight’s local arrival time and the crossings available that day before counting on it. If the timing is tight, we’d talk through a night on Lombok and a crossing the next day.
If the Gili Meno time zone is sorted and you’re still wondering how to fit everything in, send us a message through the Gus Lombok Driver website. Tell us where you’ll be that morning and where you’d like to end up. We can talk through a pickup and boat connection, or work out how much of the day you’d like to spend snorkeling.
